The production line of Shanghai Pudong Cement Plant was designed by Tianjin Cement Industry Design Institute and put into operation in 1985. It is the first production line of decomposition cement equipment outside the kiln designed and manufactured in China. 50m2 electric dust collector is used for flue gas purification at the kiln head. Later, the factory reformed the kiln system and preheater, increasing its production capacity from 650t/d to 1100t/d, and increasing the filtering air volume of the kiln head to 180000 m3/h. In this way, the previous electric dust collection was far from meeting the requirements. As early as February 2003, the factory has reformed the dust collection system at the end of the kiln, from electric dust collection to electric bag composite dust collector, after more than one year of operation, good results have been achieved, and the export emission concentration is below 30mg/Nm3. After research, the factory decided to adopt the electric bag composite dust collection technology, redesign and transform the 50m2 kiln head electric dust collector, and select the appropriate filter bag to meet the requirements of output and discharge.

Most of the cement industry production now uses electric dust collectors or bag dust collectors, each of which has advantages and disadvantages. Electric dust collector can handle the flue gas temperature is relatively high, low resistance, easy management, low maintenance cost, but by the performance of dust is relatively large, dust collection efficiency is relatively low, and the efficiency of dust collection is exponential change, with the improvement of national environmental protection requirements, often can not meet the emission requirements. The dust collection efficiency of the bag dust collector is very high, and it can easily reach the high emission standard, but the use temperature is limited, the resistance is large, and the maintenance and replacement cost is large.

The electric bag composite dust collector combines the advantages of these two types of dust collectors and avoids their shortcomings. At the front end of the dust collector, an electric field (cathode, anode) is provided, while at the rear end a filter bag is provided. When the flue gas passes through the electric field, most of the large particles in the flue gas are collected, and the remaining small part of fine particle dust enters the back bag dust collector with the flue gas.
