In all the dust collector, bag filter is relatively widely used in various factories in the dust removal equipment. This is mainly because the cost of bag filter is reasonable, and now the bag filter has been improved many times, not only the dust removal efficiency is very high, and the service life of bag filter is longer and longer, and the performance is more and more stable.

Bag dust collector, the working mechanism is that the dust-containing smoke passes through the filter material, the dust particles are filtered down, the filter material collects coarse dust mainly by inertial collision, and the fine dust is collected mainly by diffusion and screening. The dust layer of the filter material also has a certain filtering effect. The dust removal effect of the bag dust collector is related to many factors, but it mainly depends on the filter material.

The development of bag filter in China started relatively late. The first batch of dust collector in China was the Mark Pyle pulse bag filter introduced from the United Kingdom by Beijing No. 1 Pesticide Factory in l966. Since then, China has played a certain role in the improvement of dust collector and has been carrying out independent innovation.

The main advantages of bag filter are:

(1) The dust removal efficiency of the bag filter is high, and the dust emission concentration can be permanently guaranteed below 50mg/m3.

(2) The bag filter has stable and reliable performance, good adaptability to load changes, simple operation and management, especially suitable for trapping fine and dry dust, and the dry dust collected is easy to process and recycle.

(3) the bag filter can capture the dust with high specific resistance and difficult to recover by electrostatic precipitator.

(4) bag dust collector is a unit combination form, the internal structure is simple, less ancillary equipment, investment, technical requirements are not as high as electrostatic precipitator, no special operators.

(5) bag filter can realize non-stop maintenance, that is, off-line maintenance.

(6) The bag filter has a high degree of automation, and all equipment of the dust removal system is equipped with a detection and alarm function, which requires lower requirements for operators and lower labor intensity for operation and maintenance personnel.

(7) The bag filter covers a small area and can be specially designed according to the requirements of the site.

But the bag filter also has its own shortcomings

(1) The bag filter needs explosion-proof measures when purifying the dust-containing gas with explosion danger or sparks;

(2) the bag filter is used to purify the dust containing oil mist, water mist and strong adhesion of the filter material has the corresponding requirements;

(3) When the bag filter is used to treat dusty gases with high relative humidity, it is necessary to take heat preservation measures (especially in winter) to avoid "paste bags" caused by condensation; When used to purify corrosive gases, appropriate corrosion-resistant filter materials need to be selected. When used to treat high-temperature flue gas, cooling measures need to be taken to reduce the smoke temperature below the temperature that the filter bag can withstand for long-term operation, and high-temperature resistant filter materials should be used as much as possible.
